Taking up cooking as a hobby can be an enormous amount of fun. Learning recipes is part of the process. Logging various recipes you come across in a journal ensures you always have access to those special ones you wish to visit and revisit time and time again. Not having a journal could mean you may forget a great recipe so the journal becomes a reference manual of sorts.
