Lillie G. Parker captures the very heart of Southern Cooking and the rich traditions of soul food American families have come to enjoy over the years. Lillie was only thirteen when her mother introduced her to cooking. In her nineties now, Mama Lillie has never missed an opportunity to share her wonderful gift of delivering delicious meals from her kitchen. She has not only kept her family together through sharing hearty conversations over meals but also passes on her rich heritage of recipes to the next generations. Lillie wakes up in the morning and prays before she prepares food for her family.
